South Kensington is a district just west of Central London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Historically it settled on part of the scattered Middlesex village of Brompton. Its name was supplanted with the advent of the railways in the late 19th century and the opening (and shutting) and naming of local tube stations.
- Visit the Natural History Museum. The Natural History Museum is one of my favourite places in London. There are loads of interesting exhibitions on a huge variety of topics, from dinosaurs to sea animals.
- Explore the Science Museum. I visited London for the first time at the age of 12, and I made my parents spend a whole day inside the Science Museum. Considering we were only spending two days in London, I’m surprised they let me convince them to do so.
- Visit the Victoria and Albert Museum. While I’m more of a science museum fan, no visit to South Kensington would be complete without a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
- See a performance at the Royal Albert Hall. I’ve been to see shows at the Royal Albert Hall twice since I moved to London, and I was amazed on both occasions.

South Kensington is a very affluent district in West London, just south of Hyde Park. It's home to the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Imperial College and many many foreign embassies. The area is very popular with the tourists and there man fine cafes and restaurants choose from.

- Imperial College London Go On A Tour Of Imperial College London. As part of Prince Albert’s vision for a cultural hub in Kensington, Imperial College has a rich and interesting history of development dating back to the nineteenth century.
- The Anglesea Arms Have a Pint at a Historic Pub. You can walk in the footsteps of Charles Dickens (who lived at no.11), by heading down Selwood Terrace to the Anglesea Arms.
- St Stephen’s Church Take In A Concert At St Stephen’s Church. This grade II listed Anglican church, where T.S. Eliot was once churchwarden, regularly hosts concerts within its beautiful building for a minimal entry fee – check out their website to see what’s on when you visit and experience a concert with acoustics like no other!
- Institut Francais Royaume-Uni Refine Your French At The Institut Francais Royaume-Uni. The Institut Francais is the French Cultural Institute, representing all things French in the U.K.
