St Stephen’s Green, known informally as Stephen’s Green or simply the Green, is a public park located in the heart of Dublin. Historically, that stretch of land which would eventually become St Stephen’s Green began its life as a marshy plot.
Flora and Fauna. The landscape of the park today largely resembles the Victorian design of the park commissioned by Lord Ardilaun in 1880. Found in the centre of the park is a formal area with a symmetrical pattern of paths and lawns; the centrepiece is two granite fountains.
