Jan 24, 2022 · Highbanks Metro Park has two sledding hills, a gentle, bunny hill and a massive, not for faint-of-heart, monster of a hill. The gentle hill is great for the little kids. The larger hill is steep and the slope does end in a forested area, but there are bales of hay around trees to protect sledders. The park is located at 9466 Columbus Pike.
Apr 2, 2024 · The Eagle View Trail starts at the gravel parking and leads you down the hill to the floodplain level of the river. This trail is neatly groomed crushed limestone and is .4 miles in length. On the way down the hill you see a stand of trees that are obviously all the same species.

Designated. 1980. Highbanks Metro Park is a metropolitan park in Central Ohio, owned and operated by Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. The park is named for its steep banks along the Olentangy River, the park's most unique feature. Highbanks also features ten trails, picnic space, a nature center, sledding hill, and nature preserve.
Unlike some trails with gravel, these stones are very tiny, providing a smooth and comfortable running surface. The hilliness and the crushed stones help this section of the park handle moisture quite well. True to its name, a section the Overlook Trail leads to an observation deck perched atop a steep hill that overlooks the Olentangy River.
