Stephen Rea ( / ˈreɪ / ray; born 31 October 1946) is an Irish actor of stage and screen. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he began his career as a member of Dublin ’s Focus Theatre, and came to the attention of film audiences as one of the close collaborators of director Neil Jordan.
Biography. An Irish film and stage actor. Rea has appeared in a number of high profile films, both Irish and international, such as V for Vendetta, Michael Collins, Interview with the Vampire and Breakfast on Pluto. Rea was nominated for an Academy Award for his lead performance as Fergus in the 1992 film The Crying Game.
