Mac also was the father of Steve Christensen, whose life ended suddenly when he picked up a package containing a pipe bomb made and planted by Hofmann outside of his Salt Lake City office.

Steven Christensen was the first murder victim of the infamous Mark Hofmann. Hoffmann's forgeries of early COJCOLDS documents, one of which is the "Salamander Letter" by Martin Harris, started to unravel and to cover up the forgeries, Hofmann killed Steven Christensen who had a middle-man role in the Church's purchase of "authenticated" documents.
