Nov 14, 2023 · Steven E. Koonin — the Founding Director of Tandon’s Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) — has received a 2023 Barry Prize for Distinguished Intellectual Achievement from the American Academy of Sciences and Letters.
Dr. Koonin particularly championed research programs in High Performance Simulation, Exascale Computing, Inertial Fusion Energy, and Greenhouse Gas Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification. He also provided technical counsel on diverse nuclear security matters.
