Travers plays a handsome, progressive young schoolteacher assigned to a post in Jamaica. The film details his efforts to help troubled student Barrie. Mostly, however, the story concerns Travers' various romantic adventures with stewardess McKenna and with his headmaster's wife, Yvonne Mitchell.
