C. Subramania Bharati (IPA: / ˌ s u ˈ b r ə ˌ m ə n ˈ j ʌ ˈ b ɑː ˌ r ʌ θ i /; born C. Subramaniyan 11 December 1882 – 11 September 1921) was a Tamil writer, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist, social reformer and polyglot. He was bestowed the title Bharati for his excellence in poetry.
