Suffern is close to the western limits of Rockland County, near the borders of New Jersey and Orange County, approximately 45 miles and 45 minutes to an hour by car from New York City. Though officially a village, it is effectively a small town with some charming and some typical suburban buildings downtown.
Found near the southern tip of New York State, Suffern is an affluent community where the median family income tops $90,000 a year. This scenic village has many quality of life amenities that include a high-scoring Ramapo Central School District as well as a 370-bed Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
