The city of Surrey is the second-largest municipality by population in British Columbia, after Vancouver. Part of Metro Vancouver, it is bounded by the Fraser River on the north and Washington state on the south.
Surrey is Vancouver's largest suburb in both population and area, and is one of the fastest growing cities in British Columbia. It is expected to be the most populated city in British Columbia by around 2030.
