I thought Sword of Honour would be a dark and depressing account of a man's struggle with the war. And it does show this but more in the style of a light comedy. There are many humorous moments in this 2-part show. Daniel Craig plays Englishman Guy Crouchback who, against his father's wishes, wants to join the war to prove his honour.
