The Bags are an American hard/punk rock band from Lexington, Massachusetts, formed in 1985. The band is composed of members Jon Hardy, Jim Janota, and Crispin Wood. Though a couple of early recordings were released on the Crawling from Within multi-artist compilation, their debut album, entitled Rock Starve, was released in 1987.

Jon Hardy, Jim Janota, and Crispin Wood – all hailing from Lexington MA – formed The Bags in the summer of 1985. They unleashed their unique blend of hard rock and punk on the Boston club scene in September of that year.
May 29, 2019 · As a result of efforts out of Massachusetts, the ‘Ban the Bags’ campaign has been successful in stopping aggressive formula marketing tactics in hospitals. In December 2005, Massachusetts became the first state to stop hospitals from distributing formula company gift bags to new mothers.
