Oct 1, 2017 · The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is the primary way to get to Virginia Beach from the Eastern Shore area. It is an engineering marvel and stretches 17 miles.
The Scherzer Rolling Liftbridge was invented in Chicago, Illinois in 1893 to solve a railroad right-of-way acquisition issue that would not allow enough land for the typical railroad “swing-bridge” which rotates horizontally to allow river traffic to pass.
Take I-64 to Virginia Beach and cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to Route 13. Then take Route 113 to Route 1. This will take you back onto I-95 at Wilmington just before the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

There will be activities for all ages such as Touch–A–Truck / Touch-A-Tractor, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, and Silent Auction just to name a few.
We are located on the west side of Route 13, Sussex Highway, two miles south of the town of Laurel, DE. - 20 minutes due north of Salisbury, MD. - 45 minutes northwest of Ocean City, MD. - 60 minutes due south of Dover, DE. - 90 minutes southeast of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
