The Deadly Dalton Gang. Westport, Missouri, 1890. The Dalton Gang was a group of outlaws who primarily operated in Oklahoma and Kansas between 1890-1892. They were also known as the Dalton Brothers because three of its members were brothers. The gang specialized in bank and train robberies.

On October 5, 1892, Bob, Grat, and Emmett Dalton, Bill Powers, and Dick Broadwell attempted to rob two banks at the same time in Coffeyville, Kansas. Four of the gang were shot and killed, and Emmett was badly wounded. Four Coffeyville townsmen were also killed: City Marshal Charles T. Connelly, Lucius Baldwin, George Cubine, and Charles Brown.
