Reto Hochstrasser ★★★½. “Halt die Schnauze, Schweinehund!”. René Clement's great talent for suspense is clearly visible in some scenes and is strongly reminiscent of Hitchcock. Henri Alekan's camera work is very effective. The story is solid, the location on the submarine is tight... but the tension in the first part is quite limited.
