It's clear that the makers of this movie knew that "Dark Tape 2" was the weakest link of the four vignettes that comprise this film. That's why it's first, but also why a brief introduction to "Dark Tape 1" precedes it. The makers of this movie knew that the story of "Dark Tape 2" was so boneheaded and unsatisfying, that the viewer need a carrot.
