Synopsis. A depressed writer, having spent all of his earnings from his first book on classical psychoanalysis, is advised to get a pet by his soon-to-be ex-therapist. Later, he buys a dog, and he finds life a lot more complicated, as the dog becomes a catalyst for change in his life.
After a year in therapy, a down-on-his-luck writer named Solo (Giovanni Ribisi) buys a dog to cheer himself up. But his four-legged friend is a bigger handful than he ever imagined. So he turns for help to his best friend Casper (Scott Caan), a womanizing photographer, who only multiplies his problems and causes a comedy of errors to ensue.
