English. The Dude Ranger is a 1934 American Western film directed by Edward F. Cline based on the 1931 novel by Zane Grey. Parts of the film were shot in Johnson Canyon, Springdale, Zion National Park, and the Virgin River in Utah. The Grand Canyon was also a filming location.

Ann's interest in Selby provokes the ire of Dale Hyslip, the assistant manager, and that night, a rattlesnake is dropped onto Selby's bed as he sleeps. Nebraska Kemp, a cowhand who has befriended Selby, smashes the snake with his shoe and warns Selby that it is obvious to someone that he is there to make trouble.
