  8. Brief Synopsis. In the 1920s, debutante Barbara Blandish is kidnapped and held for ransom by the half-witted, sadistic Grissom Gang, which is led by Gladys "Ma" Grissom. When one of the boys falls for Barbara, the family unity of the gang is disrupted, resulting in violence.
