The Jungle Book is a 1967 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released to theaters on October 18, 1967. The 19th animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon, the film is noted for being along with The Aristocats ( 1970) the last film project to be approved by Walt Disney himself, who died during its production.
Synopsis. The story of "The Jungle Book" concerns an orphaned small boy named Mowgli. The movie starts off with an anthropomorphic black panther named Bahgeera trekking across a rain-forest in India. One day, he comes across an abandoned ship-wrecked boat, finding a small baby whose parents died is seen in the basket.
An adventurous young boy found in the jungle by Bagheera and raised by wolves. A happy-go-lucky bear who takes Mowgli under his wing and tries to teach him the “bare necessities” of life. A panther who discovers Mowgli in the jungle and watches over him as he makes his way back to civilization.
