The last married couple of the title is played by George Segal and Natalie Wood. They live in one of those modest little $2 million Southern California homes where you can pack the kids off to the family wing and they'll hardly even know there's an orgy going on.
Mari and Jeff Thompson are happily married, until the experience of seeing all of their friends divorcing makes them obsessive about keeping their marriage together. This new insecurity about the stability of their union is made worse when they meet Barbara and Jeff finds himself attracted to her.
Jeff and Mari Thompson are contently married, but they are stunned to see many of their friends and neighbors going through separations and divorces. Seemingly surrounded by people with domestic problems, Jeff and Mari begin to question their own relationship.
