Lilac Time Official Site. The Lilac Time is a British alternative folk-rock band, originally formed in Herefordshire, England by Stephen Duffy, his brother Nick Duffy and their friend Michael Weston in 1986. The band's name was taken from a line in the Nick Drake song "River Man".

I would wander into Rough Trade on Talbot Road and see what was being released. The first time I went to Rough Trade on Kensington Park Road I think Nikki Sudden was working there and he gave me all of the Swell Maps albums.
