Synopsis. Following the divorce of their parents, Micheal ( Jason Patric) and Sam Emerson ( Corey Haim ), along with their mother Lucy ( Dianne Wiest ), move to Santa Carla, California to live with their mother's father, a peculiar old man ( Barnard Hughes ).
