Ralston then offers to finance the trip if Betty will divorce Rex and marry him. In her extremity, she consents, leading Rex to believe that she has fallen in love with Ralston, knowing that only by this deception will she be able to persuade her husband to go to Switzerland. Ralston's scheme is exposed, however, and he receives a sound thrashing.
