Rarely have so many charismatic actors been used in a film that feels quite as soulless as Antoine Fuqua ’s update of “The Magnificent Seven.” It’s one of those projects that should work on paper.
Summaries. Seven gunfighters are hired by Mexican peasants to liberate their village from oppressive bandits. A bandit terrorizes a small Mexican farming village each year. Several of the village elders send three of the farmers into the United States to search for gunmen to defend them. They end up with seven, each arriving with his own reason.
