Opened Shutters is a 1921 American silent drama film directed by William Worthington and starring Edith Roberts, Josef Swickard and Joseph Singleton. It is a remake of the 1914 film The Opened Shutters , based on a novel by Clara Louise Burnham .
Since childhood, Sylvia Lacey, the orphaned daughter of an impoverished artist, has been shunned by her staid Boston relatives. Arriving in Boston for a visit, Sylvia overhears her spinster aunt, Martha Lacey, complaining to John Dunham, the young law partner of her uncle, Calvin Trent, of the burden that Sylvia poses to her.
