When artist Margaret Church (Cecilia Peck) visits her aging parents, Gardner (Gregory Peck) and Fanny (Lauren Bacall), she wants to finish a portrait of them for an upcoming exhibition. However, she instead learns that they are moving out of their house and longtime community. While Margaret tries to accept the loss of her childhood home, she also searches for reasons why her parents are leaving.
