The last straw is when Matt Davis feels compelled to go on a new foray on his wedding night; his bride Liza (just call her Lysistrata) takes teacher Cassie's advice and organizes a marital strike to make the men-folk stop their nonsense.
The Second Greatest Sex was inspired by the 411 B. C. comedy Lysistrata by Aristophanes, in which the women of ancient Greece withhold sex in order to keep their husbands from going to war. Fox Film Corporation's 1933 production The Warrior's Husband , directed by Walter Lang and starring Elissa Landi, was also inspired by the Aristophanes play.
