The Tartars/I Tartari is a 1961 Italian-Yugoslavian epic historical Technicolor film directed by Richard Thorpe and starring Victor Mature and Orson Welles. It is one of the sword-and-sandal genre films made in Italy in the 1950s and early 1960s.
In the early Middle Ages the Russian steppes are dominated by Tartars who allow only Vikings to pass through from their northern sites. The alliance is disrupted, however, when the Viking chieftain, Oleg, refuses to join Togrul the Tartar in warring against the Slavs.
