Mar 18, 2024 · THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS I first read "The Thorn Birds" in 11th grade, as, according to my U.S. history teacher, "every lady in America" was doing at the time. From what I remember seeing in dentists' waiting rooms and on the nightstands in the houses where I babysat, my teacher was right. This book was huge in the late 1970s.
