The Unvanquished is a novel by American author William Faulkner that was first published in 1938. It is a fictional account of the Civil War and Reconstruction as experienced by Bayard Sartoris, a member of the Sartoris family who feature as main characters in Faulkner’s earlier novel, Sartoris.
