Elena Schneider (Jaclyn Smith), a beautiful woman of questionable virtue, lives in a small town where a Hollywood production is being filmed. She is hired by a producer to "escort" aging movie star Randy Brent (Tony Curtis). Surprisingly, the two develop a genuine rapport, and she accompanies him back to Los Angeles, hoping to help revitalize his acting career while also launching her own.
