Thomas Lucas is a native of Pennsylvania and a graduate of Tyler School of Art, Temple University. He has a MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has taught at various institutions and galleries across the US and abroad. He is also the founder and master printer of Hummingbird Press Editions, a printmaker and an artist who works with various media and techniques.
Thomas Mark Lucas (c. 1764 – 18 May 1838) was a British educator of the blind, founder of the Royal London Society for Blind People, and developer of the Lucas tactile alphabet system, an alternative to the Braille system of reading for the blind.
