Thompson's Last Run. Red Haines and John Thompson were childhood friends that chose two very different ways of life. 8/10. Underrated TV drama. tpottera 30 July 2002. This is a made for TV movie starring Mitchum as an inmate who escapes while being transferred to another prison facility by Brimley. It is a character study of the long relationship between the Mitchum and Brimley characters and I must say I was very surprised by how touching it was!
