Mar 21, 2020 · The E36 ZF 5 speed bolts right up to the S54 using an E36 M3 flywheel/clutch disc/pressure plate. You can retain your entire driveline. If you have a 328 and are getting an M3 clutch kit, don't forget to buy an M3 slave cylinder! You can use the 6-speed from the E46 M3 as well, using an E46 M3 clutch kit, of course.

Mar 21, 2020 · S54 swap is going to be preferred for track use. It's easier to keep cool than the snail will be. Power is roughly 280-320whp out of the box (just add headers and euro tune for the upper end of that) and the engine weight will be less compared to the S52 with a supercharger bolted to it.
