Tom Tykwer (born 23.05.1965) is a German director, writer, composer and producer. 1985 he moved from his hometown Wuppertal to Berlin, started to study philosophy and to work as a projectionist. In 1988 he took over in programming of the Berlin cinema "Moviemento".
