Tokhta (Toqta, Tokhtai, Tochtu or Tokhtogha) (died c. 1312) was a khan of the Golden Horde, son of Mengu-Timur and great grandson of Batu Khan.
Toqta now weakened the White Horde economy by picking a fight with the Genoese colonies in the Crimea. Concerned by the continuing export of Qipchaq slaves for the Mamluk army, Toqta arrested the Genoese residents of Saray in 1307 and then besieged the port of Caffa.
Toqta Khan was born 1270 to Mengu-Timur Khan (c1245-1280) and died 1312 of unspecified causes. He married Maria Palaiologina (1297-c1340) . Toqta Khan attempts to end the semi-independent rule of the Rus vassal princes by sending his brothers at the head of an army that devastates no less than fourteen towns. Toqta himself forces Grand Prince Demetrius of Vladimir to abdicate, which is an important victory in itself as he is an ally of Nogai Khan of the Nogai Horde.
