A German born actress and former model brought to Hollywood by RKO owner Howard Hughes, Thiess made a handful of films before retiring from the screen after her marriage to actor Robert Taylor. These include Monsoon (1953), The Iron Glove (1954), Bengal Brigade (1954), The Americano (1955) and Bandido (1956).
