Vera Farmiga is an American actress. She began her career on stage as an understudy in Ronald Harwood 's 1996 play Taking Sides on Broadway. [1] The following year, she starred in the Off-Broadway play Second-Hand Smoke (1997) by Mac Wellman. [2] Farmiga made her film debut in the drama-thriller Return to Paradise (1998).
