The Vienna Technical Museum (German: Technisches Museum Wien) is located in Vienna , in the Penzing district, at Mariahilferstraße 212. The decision to establish a technical museum was made in 1908, and construction of the building started in 1909. On June 20, 1909, Emperor Franz Josef laid the foundation stone.

Oct 22, 2023 · Technisches Museum – the highlights. Walking around the Technisches Museum (Museum of Science & Technology) is quite overwhelming. So much to see. So much to do. Almost too much for one trip, frankly. Contains numerous interactive stations and experiences. Lots of big machines, such as locomotives, planes and industrial equipment.
