Virgin Island is a 1958 British drama film directed by Pat Jackson and starring John Cassavetes, Virginia Maskell and Sidney Poitier. It is an adaptation of the memoir Our Virgin Island by Robb White and was filmed on the British Virgin Islands. The American release in 1960 followed the title of the novel.

Being 15 and kind of bored stuck on a small island, it was very captivating to read the story of the two newlyweds who escaped reality and built a life and home on the remote island. We stayed in two separate cabins on the far side of the island facing Virgin Gorda. It was difficult to sleep because of the crashing waves and wind.
