The History of Walsh College. 1922. Mervyn Walsh leaves his job as Thomas Edison’s accountant to buy a franchise to teach the Pace Method of Accounting. He opens the Walsh Institute in Detroit’s Capitol Theater on September 18. Twenty-three students enroll. Tuition is $60 a semester.
