27.09(1) Where a defendant does not dispute the claim of the plaintiff in the main action, but asserts a counterclaim, the court may stay the main action or grant judgment, with or without a stay of execution, until the counterclaim is disposed of. Civil law, also called Romano-Germanic law, the law of continental Europe, much of Latin America, and parts of Asia and Africa, based on an admixture of Roman, Germanic, ecclesiastical, feudal, commercial, and customary law. It is distinguished from the common law of the Anglo-American countries.
