+1 for Isohunt, very good search engine. Edit : in fact, I started using it one month ago, while mininova was still alive. When something wasn't on mininova, it usually was on Isohunt (with only a few sources, but hey). And they don't try to give you fake results when you search for something.
The Mininova is a quality entry level synth. It has tons of pre-loaded patches, which are organised into useful categories. The vocoder is decent, though you will be limited to about six useful patches.
