The Revised Standard Version: Second Catholic Edition (RSV2CE) is one of the most popular translations. It's perhaps the most well-rounded translation - it's not too literal but also not paraphrased, it's easy to read while also retaining a sense of beauty rather than dryness, and it has a slight amount of formal/archaic flair but nowhere near enough to make it troublesome to read.
