Ridley-Thomas was a highly successful and popular Los Angeles politician, and a recent City Councilman; and Woods was a veteran workers’ compensation applicants’ attorney.
Apparently, Ridley Scott was attached at one point with McCarthy adapting the screenplay himself before his death. I sincerely, with all my heart and soul, hope Scott does not proceed though. He is no longer the director for this adaptation, and hasn't been for over 20 years.
