Feb 16, 2021 · Alan Scott was the first Green Lantern introduced into the DC Universe and was created by cartoonist Martin Nodell. While Alan Scott will always be respected in the world of comics for establishing the entire corps of Green Lanterns, the DC canon has a much deeper history that extends far before Alan Scott ever became a Lantern.
- We’ve had three different explanations for the rings’ yellow weakness. Green Lanterns are fearless, so it makes symbolic sense that their one weakness is yellow, the color tied to cowardice.
- The Golden Age Green Lantern’s ring works differently from Hal Jordan's. Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern of the 1940s, had a lot in common with Hal.
- The ring duplicates the Guardians’ own powers. Before the emotional spectrum days, the source of the central battery’s power was the Guardians themselves.
