I think its not that much reformed from early christianity compared to Catholic religion, that is why its called Orthodox. One of recently Popes, I think Benedict said he likes very much some aspects from Orthodoxy, Liturgy the most, because Orthodoxy is performing holy secret every Sunday and its quitte different in Catholicism.
