The satellite images belong to Google and are 100% controlled by Google. They are in fact the same images as are used by Google Maps. Google controls their quality and when they choose to update them. WikiMapia is only “borrowing” them and has no control over them whatsoever. And the same goes for the Map layer and the Terrain layer also.
