William Champion (born 31 July 1978) is an English musician and songwriter. He is best known as the drummer and backing vocalist of the rock band Coldplay. Raised in Southampton, he learned to play many instruments during his childhood, drawing influence from Nick Cave, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and traditional Irish folk music.
Will Champion was the last member to join Coldplay back in 1998 and since then, he has been, solely, the British band drummer through thick and thin. Even though Will sometimes backed up vocals for the band on numerous occasions, he is more effective as the band’s drummer and has low key being the backbone of the band as stated, by Chris Martin.
